University of Toledo Health & Science Campus Artist Showcase

Let's Have a Ball was out and about Friday at the Artist Reception at the University of Toledo Health & Science Campus in the Mulford Library.  You can read about the event here.  Not only did Let's Have a Ball provide delicious treats, my sister who is the nursing librarian at the Mulford Library had a painting on display and my son, Davis had his painting on display as well.  My sister had a gorgeous oil painting done of Davis last year as a gift to all of us for his 1st birthday.  The artist who painted it wanted to display it in the art show so of course we couldn't say no, I loved seeing the painting of our son in the show.  Unfortunately he slept the entire time so I wasn't able to get a photo of him next to his own painting.  I see another trip to the library in our future while the display is still up.

I made 4 different flavors, 3 of which were brand new, Red Velvet, Carrot Cake, Chocolate Birthday Cake and Stella Yella.

Now, onto the treats.

New York Cheesecake Bites and Pops

I have been looking for an excuse to try making Cheesecake Bites and Pops.

Hitting 100 fans on my Facebook fan page gave me a reason.

It took a little improvising on my part to make the perfect round ball, I am a perfectionist.

After a little trial and error, I figured out a way.

Top secret though.

I dipped them in milk chocolate and white.

I cannot believe I'm saying this, but I'm partial to the way white chocolate tastes on these.

Check out the teeth marks, YUM!!!!

I Scream, You Scream

We all scream for ICE CREAM!!!

Who doesn't love a dripping ice cream cone on a hot summer day?

I know it isn't really a hot summer day around here, actually it is really cold and we have snow on the ground.

Nothing like an ice cream cone to get you in the mood for summer time.

So I decided to make some cake ball ice cream cones.

Don't you just want to bite into one of these guys?

Sweet Simplicity

You know I'm in love with all things simple.  This was a "just because" order from earlier this week.  Someone just felt like eating some cake ball truffles, can't argue with that!!  One taste and your hooked for life!

I really love the decoration on these, simple and sweet.  They remind me of the perfect winter day, curled up on the couch, watching the snow fall, fire in the fireplace, a cup of hot cocoa or if your me, coffee, in your hand and some cake ball truffles, of course!  Almost makes you forget how cold it is outside.

An Early Valentine's Day

I created this custom arrangement for a good friend and client, she needed something to give her babysitter as a little combination Thank You and We'll Miss You gift.  My friend is going to Florida for a few months and just wanted to let her amazing babysitter know how much they will miss her while they are gone.  Isn't that sweet??

You might think these are sweet too.

And you know how I love making cupcake pops, this one might be my favorite to date.

I thought I'd give heart shaped cake pops a whirl too, I'm thrilled with the way it turned out.

All wrapped and ready to go, I must say I was kind of sad to see these leave my house, they were so pretty to look at.

I almost forgot, a custom tag too!!!

If you are interested in a custom arrangment for someone special on Valentine's Day, I am taking orders.  Prices start at $16 for an arrangement of 7 cake pops.

Keeping You Guessing

I just wanted to pop in and say that when I hit 100 fans on Facebook I plan on introducing something new, fabulous and delicious!!

Hopefully I hit 100 fans soon.

So you don't have to wait too long.

If I hit 100 fans this week, I will work on it this weekend and hopefully by next Monday you will know what it is.

I already know what it is.

Can you stand the suspense?

Want to take a few guesses?

Classic. Simple. Elegant. Timeless.

In my life, I am a minamalist of sorts.

I don't like too much decor around my house, I feel cluttered.

I like my clothes to be fashionable and trendy, yet simple and timeless.

I chose my wedding dress because it was classic, simple, elegant and timeless.  Nobody is going to look at my wedding picture and go, oh yeah, that had to be a 2007 wedding because it was the year of (insert horrible wedding dress trend here).

I made these with that in mind.
